RIJEKA 1988

We went there by a train (in the group there was deceased Leska, Moro, Jela, Kompi, his brother, Tuso and some other people from Sucidar). We drank on Matejuska and around the city and we ended up on the train in the last minute. The train was PACKED, the halls, toilets, you couldn't move at all. We stood near the toilets and drank the vodka that we brought with us. At the time, two cops were always traveling with us to away games, to make sure we don't cause troubles. Their names were Sljivar and Mrduljas, and they always paid special attention to what Jela and I were doing, because they thought that we were the oldest (fuck it...in 1988 when we were 22, they considered us old). They thought that we would always start everything and would order younger guys what to do (which was partly true to be honest). Those two exact cops broke into my house, searched everything and took a lot of my tapes, so I was in war with them, because every now and then they would get me and try to force me to "sing" about certain information, and of course I wouldn't. So they would set up and make up stuff so they can arrest me for absolutely nothing every now and then. Anyway, we were drinking, and here they come... Of the whole train, they came to us and asked us for ID , as if they don't know us. Sljivar takes the bottle from my hand, looks at the label and goes as if he's going to spill it. I was furious, so I angrily took the bottle back. And now two of them looked at us confused, they didn't know how to react. I could seen in his eyes that he would like to punch me, but couldn't. The whole group gathered, and if he tried anything, they would fly of the train. So all they did was make an angry face, took a breathe and went away, as they pass me by Sljivar said "You'll pay for this some day" (He had his revenge in Belgrade (3:0) but thats a whole different story). The rest of the trip was normal. As we got to Rijeka, the whole group got out, there were no Rijeka fans present (Armada only started a year prior to that, so they were fairly new, small and unknown). We walked on the middle of the street on our way to the stadium, singing... the whole group was mad. On the stadium they provoked us really badly, we had a great flares show thanks to Torcida member form Rijeka Mate Vuksan (now a captain of a ship, I wish him quiet sea, and good luck) which at the time not everyone could get a hold of a flare on a market or a shop. He organized everything beforehand so it all went by the plan. At one moment, the group starts to tear down the fence that divided us from the stadium, as we broke it down, it ended up on the field. The group started running towards their supporters, and with that everyone that was in front ran like crazy from us. Anyway, we couldn't reach Armada, because between them and us there was a fence and normal people were standing next to that fence. More flares and smoke bombs were set off, you couldn't breathe. The players come up on the fence and try to put everything back into place. Later on the cops with dogs come in. They let a dog run alone on the sector (or the dog got away), Cole stabs the dog (he didn't bite the dog, like it was reported later in the media), the cops that got in the way got beaten up by Kvatro and Top (They both got 6 months for it, Kvatro still comes up to our club of supporters). Later on the police blocked the whole street that lead to the sector where Armada was located, so that we don't go there. On the way to the train station, whoever of locals had the guts to yell out something would end up with destroyed car, or broken windows, shops, whatever (Zdravko Reic already wrote in SD newspaper "What is going to happen when this horde goes out in the small town of Ostarije on their way home, ha ha ). When we got back to Split, for the whole day we continued drinking and singing...
